Welcome to the website of Oliver’s Battery Parish Council, where we regularly communicate our activities, events and initiatives.
The Parish Council is a local authority that is impartial and working voluntarily on behalf of our community.

The Parish Council has limited powers and duties, all of which impact directly on the community, for example provision and maintenance of recreation grounds, play areas, open spaces, village greens and playing fields. However, we do have the ability to negotiate with, and the power to influence, those organisations that do make the decisions in other areas, for example planning and highways. Consequently, we liaise closely with Winchester City Council and Hampshire County Council, together with your local elected City and County Councillors. The Parish Council can also spend a limited amount of money on anything they deem of benefit to the community and we are very pleased to have supported many activities and initiatives in our community, via our grant application procedure.
We are lucky insomuch as we have managed to retain our local shops, which includes a post office. St Mark’s Church is also the focal point for the various groups that meet there.
We hope you will find the information useful, please free to contact us on any matter and will be happy to consider its addition to the website.
Cllr David Kirkby, Chair of Oliver’s Battery Parish Council
