Winter on the Battery

There are a number of salt bins in place around the Parish; They are in the following locations (for a map of salt bins and Hampshire County Council salting routes click here):

Badger Farm Road junction with Oliver’s Battery Road South; Sunnydown road at both ends; Old Kennels Close; Downlands Road/Oliver’s Battery Crescent;   Compton Way/Austen Avenue; Compton Way/South View Road; Treble Close; Downlands Road/Braeside Close; Keats Close; Broadview Lane/Pine Close; Priors Way/Partridge Down; Parliament Place; Millers Lane/Port Lane

In addition the council have four snow shovels available to loan they are placed at

  • 64 Old Kennels Lane
  • 107 Oliver’s Battery Road South
  • 27 Compton Way
  • 144 Olivers Battery Road South

You are reminded that the Grit Bins are for use on the roads and MUST NOT be used for private Driveways.
