Commenting on Planning Applications
Winchester City Council must determine planning applications in accordance with what is known as Material Planning Considerations (MPC). MPC are many and extraordinarily varied, including all the fundamental factors involved in land use planning. They also include representations from neighbours and other interested parties, so long as they relate to land use matters. Comments can be in favour or against the application and this should be made clear in the representation.
Oliver’s Battery Parish Council (OBPC) is notified of planning applications within Oliver’s Battery and can make representations to the City Council. Individuals can also provide comments direct to the City Council and are encouraged to do so, either by clicking the “Make Comment” box on the “Applications Details” page of the City Council Planning website or email to planning@winchester.gov.uk quoting the planning reference number on the subject line or by post to Planning Administrator, Winchester City Council, City Offices, Colebrook Street, Winchester SO23 9LJ.
For guidance on making comments please click here. Please note all comments received will be available for public inspection and will be published on the City Council Planning website. Please also note there is a closing date for receipt of comments and it would be helpful if you could provide a copy of your comments to OBPC asap preferably at least one week before the closing date.
If you would like to see more details on a planning application and you have internet access, then visit the City Council Planning website or the Planning Portal.
