Easter Egg Hunt: Sunday 17th April.
Around 180 participants enjoyed the inaugural infant, junior, 3k and 5k events in glorious weather. We are looking forward to running the event again next year weaving a few more twists into it!
Jubilee Picnic: Sunday 5th June, Midday to 5pm.
Our Picnic is based around the ‘Big Jubilee Lunch’ idea of encouraging community to get to know each other a bit better and have some fun!
The Picnic will start at 12 Midday and run to around 4pm after which we will start to wind down.
We have Kasbah, a local 16 piece Swing Band with vocals, who will be doing two 45 minute sets for us. The rest of the time we will be playing recorded music through the 7 decades. There will also be a music and event quiz available for the keener ones. Also, if you fancy, please come in one of the fashions from the 7 decades 🙂.
You need to bring your own picnic, something to sit on and something to sit under & importantly, as there will be no bar on site, that’s definitely part of the BYO…
The proposed timing of the Event is:

    0800 onward the ‘heavies’ put up the marquee etc

1100-1200 people arrive and set up their picnic

1200          ‘Official Opening’ 

1200-1300 recorded music from the last 7 decades

1300-1345 Kasbah Band Set 1

1345-1415 recorded music from the last 7 decades

1415-1500 Kasbah Band Set 2

1500-1600 recorded music from the last 7 decades

1600-1700 people start to pack up and depart

1700 onward the ‘heavies’ clear the site

Later in the year::

The Scarecrow competition will run 16th-25th September with Junior and Senior cups as last year plus a new ‘collaborative’ cup. The imagination that has been seen over the last two years has been stunning 🙂

The Christmas tree will arrive on Saturday 3rd December with a mulled wine, mince pie and Carol event in the evening.
